Ingredients
3 packages Dry Yeast ½ cup warm water (80°F) 6 tablespoons Sugar 6 cups All Purpose Flour 1 teaspoon Baking Powder 1 teaspoon Baking Soda 1 teaspoon Salt 3 tablespoons Sugar 1 ½ cups Shortening 2 cups Buttermilk
Preparation
- Combine and set aside
- Dry yeast
- Warm water (about 80¡ F)
- Sugar
- In a LARGE bowl, combine
- cups flour
- teaspoon baking powder
- teaspoon baking soda
- teaspoon salt
- tablespoons of the sugar
- Cut in shortening
- Add buttermilk
- Add yeast mixture, combine until moist
Let Dough Rise
- Let rise until doubled
- Preheat oven to 450°F
- Punch down dough
- Roll out to ½" thickness
- Cut into biscuits
Bake
- Arrange biscuits on greased baking sheet
- Bake 12 to 14 minutes
