These are Robert's infamous killer brownies.

Special Equipment

  • 8x8x2" baking pan, greased
  • Electric Mixer

Ingredients

  • ¾ pound 60% (or higher) Bittersweet Chocolate
  • ½ cup Unsalted Butter
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
  • ¾ cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Baking Powder

Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.

Preparation

  • Melt bitterweet chocolate and butter over a double boiler.
  • Meanwhile, using an electric mixer, beat eggs and sugar until fluffy.
  • Cool chocolate mixture until warm to the touch.
  • Fold chocolate into into eggs.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Sift together, and stir into chocolate mixture
    • flour
    • baking power
    • salt

Optional Add In's

  • Fold in chocolate mixture (up to 8 ounces total)
    • Toffee bits
    • Chocolate chunks
    • or any other items
  • My best batch so far
    • Toffee bits
    • Caramel filled semiseweet chocolate chunks.

Bake

  • Pour mixture into pan.
  • Top as desired.
  • Bake 45 mins.

Presentation

  • Cool until set.
  • Cut into 9 pieces.
